Description
The Vortex Stump Grinder, efficiently removes obstructive tree stumps. This advanced attachment features a high torque radial piston motor, connected to a sturdy direct drive system, enhancing power and cutting efficacy even in extreme conditions.
Note: a case drain is required to operate this attachment.
The Vortex is complete with a rubber guard that efficiently curtails wood chip spray, addressing previous feedback and enhancing operator satisfaction. The upgraded guard is larger and features a rounded edge, effectively capturing more debris.
Two models of the Vortex Stump Grinder are available: the V27, with a 27” diameter cutting wheel and 18-30 GPM standard flow rate, and the V31, with a 31” diameter cutting wheel and a high flow rate of 30-45 GPM.
The radial piston motor and the direct drive system, critical parts of the drive system, convert nearly 95% of the hydraulic flow’s energy into horsepower for stump grinding. Its unique anti-cavitation feature eliminates the need for a check valve, reducing potential failure points. The direct drive system employs an oil-bathed enclosed hub, eliminating the need for operator intervention regarding external couplers or greasing. The housing of the grinder is tough grade 50 steel, complemented by Eterra’s heavy-duty universal Excavator mounting plate. The design includes a footrest and a replaceable fiber-reinforced rubber guard, designed to minimize chip spray and withstand debris impact without intrusion into the grinder.
